Raina has the ability to create and manipulate fire. She can control her abilities for the most part, but if she gets angry or scared, they can get out of control. Because of this, her parents always kept her away from other children. It wasn't too bad; her parents loved her very much, but it made her a bit awkward and friendless. She did still attend school, though, and it was in her senior class, shortly after she had turned 18 that the police showed up to talk to her. They told her that her parents had died in a car crash only an hour before.
With all the emotion of losing her parents so suddenly, flames began to shoot from her hands. The entire school burned to the ground and 32 students ended up dying. She, herself, was trapped under a fallen support beam until the fire could be put out, but she survived thanks to her abilities; in addition to pyrokinesis, she is massively heat-resistant, though not entirely. She emerged from the flames with a scaly pink scar that winds around the length of her forearm.

Being a legal adult, she was charged with arson and 32 counts of third-degree murder. She escaped before she could be taken into custody and has been hiding out in a cave outside the city ever since.
